E-Bike Diagnostics

A professional diagnostic service for e-bikes experiencing error codes, warning messages, power loss or other system concerns. We connect directly to the bike using the relevant manufacturer software, document the findings and recommend the appropriate next step before repair work begins.

Interim E-Bike Service

A structured six-month service focused on mechanical safety, drivetrain performance and braking reliability, with key visual checks specific to e-bike systems.

  • Critical bolts checked and torqued
  • Headset inspected and adjusted

Drivetrain Performance

  • Gear indexing and adjustment

Braking System

  • Brake operation and performance checked
  • Callipers aligned and adjusted
  • Lever position and bite point optimised where adjustable
  • Pads and rotors inspected

Wheels, Tyres & Finish

  • Wheel trueness checked with minor adjustments
  • Tyres inspected
  • Tubeless system checked and sealant topped up

Hydraulic brake bleeding, software diagnostics, suspension servicing, internal bearing work and replacement parts are not included. Any worn components or additional work will be discussed before proceeding.

Full E-Bike Service

£250

A comprehensive annual mechanical refresh. It includes everything in the Interim Service, deeper component cleaning and servicing, plus a manufacturer-software scan and firmware check on every compatible bike.

Deep Mechanical Service

  • Drivetrain stripped, thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt
  • Gear inner and outer cables replaced where required and applicable
  • Separate serviceable bottom bracket removed, cleaned and re-greased where fitted
  • Standard headset removed, cleaned and re-greased

Advanced Brake Service

  • Front and rear hydraulic brakes bled
  • Brake system reset, aligned and optimised
  • SRAM Maven and Magura systems are subject to an additional £10 charge

Frame & Chassis

  • Components required for the included work removed
  • Frame deep cleaned
  • Suspension linkage inspected, cleaned externally and torque checked
  • Bearing condition checked across key areas

Wheels & Tubeless System

  • Wheel trueness and spoke tension checked
  • Minor corrections included
  • Tyres removed
  • Tubeless system refreshed with new sealant and tape

E-Bike System Checks

  • Motor area cleaned externally and inspected
  • Battery mount, connections and visible wiring checked
  • Bike connected to manufacturer diagnostic software
  • Fault codes and system health checked
  • Firmware checked and updated where available

Dropper & Final Setup

  • Dropper condition and operation checked
  • Cable replaced where required
  • Fasteners checked and air pressure restored where applicable
  • Bike reassembled with final torque and mechanical checks

Motor removal, internal suspension servicing, bearing servicing or replacement, internal dropper servicing, major wheel truing and replacement parts are not included. Complex internal cable or headset routing may require additional labour. Extra work will always be explained and approved first.

E-Bike Motor Replacement

From £165

A professional labour-only service for removing and replacing a compatible motor supplied or approved by the manufacturer. Pricing starts at £165 and varies where frame access, routing or additional work increases complexity.

Motor Removal & Installation

  • Existing motor removed from the frame
  • Mounting interfaces cleaned and prepared
  • Compatible replacement motor installed and aligned
  • Fixings torqued to manufacturer specification

Electrical & System Checks

  • Wiring connections inspected and secured
  • System connected to manufacturer diagnostic software
  • Firmware checked and updated where available
  • System function test completed

This is labour only: the motor is not supplied. It must be compatible and approved for the bike. Fault diagnosis, warranty processing, additional mechanical or electrical work and replacement parts are not included.

Avinox, Bosch, Shimano, TQ, SRAM Powertrain, Brose and Fazua. We have authorised dealer support and access to the full diagnostic software for each listed system.

Is a diagnostic scan included in the Full Service?

Yes. Every Full E-Bike Service includes connection to the relevant manufacturer software, a system check and firmware updates where available.

Are repairs included in the £50 diagnostic charge?

No. The diagnostic service identifies and documents the problem. Any repair, parts or additional labour will be quoted separately.

Does the Full Service include removing the motor?

No. The motor area, connections and visible wiring are inspected, but motor removal is a separate workshop service.

Do you supply replacement motors?

The advertised motor replacement service is labour only and requires a compatible, manufacturer-approved motor. Contact us first with the bike, system and replacement-motor details.

Are replacement parts included?

No. Replacement parts and additional work are charged separately and agreed before fitting or proceeding.
