A drivetrain is a connected system. Speed, mounting interface, freehub body, chainline and component generation must all match. If you are unsure, the Torque workshop can check the details before you order.
Compatibility first
What to check before ordering
Parts that look similar are not necessarily interchangeable. Confirm the complete drivetrain standard rather than relying on the number of gears alone.
Cassette & freehub
Confirm whether the rear wheel uses HG, XD or Micro Spline before choosing a cassette. Range and derailleur capacity must also be compatible.
Chainring & chainline
Check tooth profile, tooth count, crank mounting interface, offset and required chainline. Direct-mount chainrings are not universal.
MTB or e-MTB use
E-MTB drivetrains work under greater load. Choose suitable components, monitor chain wear and replace connected wear items before poor shifting damages the rest of the system.

Better shifting is more than a new component
Worn chains, damaged teeth, poor alignment, incorrect chain length and mixed standards can all create the same symptoms. Torque can assess the complete drivetrain and recommend only the parts and work it actually needs.

Drivetrain FAQs
Can I mix drivetrain components from different brands or generations?
Sometimes, but not simply because they have the same number of speeds. Cable pull, chain design, cassette spacing and system-specific interfaces can differ. Check the exact components before mixing systems.
Are SRAM Eagle and SRAM T-Type Transmission parts interchangeable?
They are different systems with specific compatibility rules. Do not assume a conventional Eagle component will work in a T-Type Transmission—or the reverse—without checking the exact part.
How do I know which cassette fits my rear wheel?
Identify the freehub body first: commonly HG, XD or Micro Spline. The cassette must match that interface as well as the drivetrain speed and derailleur capacity.
Should I replace the cassette when fitting a new chain?
Not automatically. It depends on wear. A heavily worn cassette or chainring can skip with a new chain, so connected components should be inspected before deciding.
