Coast Optics Echo – Compact MTB Glasses for Women & Youth Riders
The Echo takes everything that worked about the Coast Optics Nita and scales it into a more compact frame — purpose-built for riders with smaller heads, without trimming any of the performance. If the Nita fits larger faces, the Echo is the answer for women and younger riders who want proper trail eyewear that stays put rather than a scaled-down afterthought.
What It Does
The Echo uses a cylindrical lens format with high-definition optics, anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings, and full 100% UV protection. Ultra-Grip rubber on both the nose piece and temple tips holds the frame securely in place across technical terrain — the kind of fit detail that matters when you're descending through rooty woodland or climbing hard in summer heat. The lenses swap out easily without tools, so you can switch between the included clear and tinted options depending on conditions.
Technical Insight
The frame is made from Bio-TR90, a biodegradable thermoplastic that's lightweight, flexible, and durable — a more environmentally considered material choice than standard TR90 without compromising on strength or longevity. The photochromatic lens option (available on Black and Driftwood colourways) transitions between 15% and 85% light transmission, making it a practical all-day option when conditions are likely to change mid-ride.
Lens Options Explained
- Clear (85% transmission) – low light, dusk, and deep woodland riding
- Pink Crystal (57% transmission) – variable and overcast conditions
- Black Sun (17% transmission) – bright sunny days
- Gold Sun (15% transmission) – strong direct sunlight
- Photochromatic (15%–85% transmission) – automatically adjusts to changing light
What's Included
- Echo glasses frame
- Clear lens, or selected tinted lens plus clear lens (depending on variant)
- Coast Optics recycled microfibre glasses bag
Sizing & Fit
The Echo is designed specifically for women and youth riders with smaller head sizes. It is a compact version of the Nita frame and is not intended as a unisex fit. No numerical head circumference data is supplied by Coast Optics for this model — if you're unsure whether the Echo or a standard-fit frame is right for you, get in touch with us at Torque Collective and we'll help you choose.
Why Torque Collective Stock This
Women and youth riders are frequently underserved by eyewear brands that simply relabel a standard frame as a smaller fit. The Echo is a genuinely scaled and refined design built around a compact face shape, backed by real performance features — swappable HD lenses, UV protection, anti-fog coating, and secure rubber grip. It covers multiple light conditions through the lens variant range and uses a more sustainable frame material. That combination of fit accuracy, practical performance, and environmental consideration makes it a straightforward addition to what we stock.
