Ergon SM E-Mountain Core Prime Women's Saddle

eMTB riding places unique demands on a saddle. Longer seated climbs, steeper gradients, and greater trail impacts all require more than a standard cross-country or trail saddle can offer. Ergon developed the SM E-Mountain Core Prime specifically around these conditions, arriving at a shape through dedicated eMTB research rather than adapting an existing design.

What It Does

The saddle uses a 3D flex shell made from nylon composite, which moves with the rider's hips through technical terrain and seated climbing efforts. This flex is channelled through what Ergon calls the Ergonomic Core, designed to support complex hip movements rather than resist them. Orthopaedic comfort foam padding adds damping across rougher surfaces, while a microfibre cover keeps weight low and maintains grip across different riding conditions.

Technical Specification

  • Shell: Nylon Composite with 3D flex
  • Rails: CrMo (chromoly steel)
  • Cover: Microfibre
  • Padding: Orthopaedic Comfort Foam

Sizing & Fit

Available in Small/Medium and Medium/Large. Ergon saddle sizing is based on sit bone width. If you are unsure which size suits you, contact us at the workshop and we can advise — correct sizing makes a meaningful difference to comfort on longer eMTB rides.

Why Torque Collective Stock This

eMTB riders spend more time seated than most trail riders realise, especially on sustained motor-assisted climbs. A saddle built with that in mind — rather than repurposed from a different discipline — is a genuine workshop recommendation. The flex shell and orthopaedic foam combination addresses real comfort issues we see reported on longer eMTB days out.
