The Ergon SM Downhill is an uncompromising saddle developed directly through World Cup Downhill racing feedback. Refined over years of competition at the highest level, it's designed for riders who need a saddle that works with their body through rough terrain, not against it.

What It Does

The SM Downhill's super-compact shape delivers maximum tyre clearance, making it especially well-suited to smaller 29er frames where space is tight. The saddle's contour follows the motion sequence specific to downhill riding, allowing the rider to shift and steer naturally through the bike rather than fighting the seat on every berm and drop.

The 360° edge padding wraps the full perimeter of the saddle, offering protection during impacts and optimising leg steering control — both critical when you're committed at speed and need the bike to respond exactly as intended. The well-padded seat also makes chairlift-assisted laps significantly more comfortable.
