The Race Face Era Carbon handlebar is built around a very specific goal—reducing rider fatigue without sacrificing control.

Rather than simply making a stiff carbon bar, Race Face developed what they call a “Goldilocks” (GL) tune, balancing stiffness and compliance to absorb trail chatter while maintaining precise steering.

This becomes particularly important on modern trail bikes and eMTBs. Increased bike weight, higher speeds, and longer descents all amplify vibration through the front end. The Era bar is designed to manage that—reducing arm pump and improving comfort over time without feeling vague or soft.

The 800mm width and 40mm rise combination is a strong modern setup. Wider bars increase leverage and control, while the higher rise helps position the rider more upright—improving comfort on climbs and stability on steeper terrain.

Construction-wise, the bar uses uni-directional carbon with a tuned layup specific to each size, ensuring consistent ride feel across different widths and rises rather than relying on riders cutting bars down.
