TRP EVO Pro Brake Set (MTB / eMTB Gravity)
Typically ships within 2 - 3 Days
The TRP EVO Pro is built for riders who want maximum braking power without sacrificing control.
Designed for downhill, enduro, bike park, and aggressive eMTB riding, the EVO Pro is the evolution of the hugely respected DH-R EVO platform—retaining TRP’s excellent modulation while significantly improving outright stopping power, adjustability, and heat management. It is specifically engineered for the kind of sustained braking loads that modern eMTBs and gravity riding create.
At the centre of the system is a high-flow 4-piston caliper, paired with TRP’s updated master cylinder and lever design. The brake delivers stronger power while maintaining the smooth, predictable feel that made the previous DH-R EVO so popular. Rather than a harsh “on/off” brake feel, the EVO Pro gives powerful, controlled braking with excellent consistency through the lever stroke.
A major feature is the new PAD (Pad Activation Dial), which allows riders to adjust modulation and bite feel during the lever stroke. Combined with lever reach adjustment, this gives far more tuning than previous TRP systems and lets riders tailor the brake to their exact preference.
The system is designed around 2.3mm thick rotors only, which is a major part of why heat management is so strong. Thicker rotors dissipate heat faster, improve consistency on long descents, and reduce fade—especially important for heavier bikes and heavier riders. TRP specifically positions this brake around steep terrain, repeated heavy braking, and eMTB use where most systems start to struggle.
This is a brake set for riders who push hard and want a system that stays powerful all day—not just for the first run.

Torque Collective Insight
This sits in a very interesting place between Saint and Maven.
Compared to Shimano Saint:
- Saint = instant bite, aggressive power
- TRP EVO Pro = huge power with better modulation and more tunability
Compared to SRAM Maven:
- Maven = very modern feel, huge power, premium finish
- TRP EVO Pro = slightly more “set and forget,” simpler feel, excellent consistency
Compared to Hope Tech 4 V4:
- Hope = lever feel and engineering refinement
- TRP EVO Pro = heat management and gravity-focused stopping power
For eMTB riders, this is especially strong because heavier bikes expose weak brakes fast.
The big advantage here is the 2.3mm rotor platform.
That gives:
- stronger heat resistance
- more consistent bite point
- less fade on sustained descents
This is one of the best brakes available for riders who prioritise real-world braking performance over hype.
Fit & Sizing
Configuration
- Front and rear sold individually
- Left and right lever options available
Rotor Compatibility
- Must be used with 2.3mm thick rotors only
- Common sizes:
- 180mm
- 200mm
- 203mm
- 220mm
- 223mm
eMTB Setup Recommendation
For aggressive eMTB use:
- Front → 203mm minimum, ideally 220mm or 223mm
- Rear → 200mm or 203mm minimum
This brake performs best when paired with larger rotors where heat load is highest.
